a rockin' sleepover

when I woke up this morning, there were 5 male members of a band sleeping in my living room.

you know how it happens. one night you're out at a show and you get coaxed into staying out late with a band whose members just casually befriended you and your roommate and then you end up driving their RV + trailer through the city of Chicago to a bar and then to your apartment since you know the way, you're mostly sober, and you agreed to let them crash at your place. and then you stay up till 4:30am even though you have to get up for work about two hours later, and you have to politely deflect the youngest band member's amorous intentions because you're only gonna get 2 hours of sleep and you just don't feel like this is the right time to be a whore anyway because all the guys are really cool and laid back and you like them too much to get the groupie label, and plus you kind of think the lead singer is a fox, albeit a responsible fox, and want to prove you're not one of those girls. and you feel bad for them because they only got 100 bucks total for playing the sold-out gig so you buy them a few beers with your roommate's money since she was sucker enough to give it to you and you talk and talk and talk about music and then when you're back at your apartment you really have to deflect the amorous intentions of the cute youngest member because oh my, getting up will be so difficult, and then you finally get to sleep and then you wake up not much longer after that and then you shower and dress and then you help wake up all the boys around 8 and then since you're so nice and you feel bad for the poverty-struck lads you drop some quarters into the two meters for the spaces their RV + trailer are occupying before you catch the bus for work, and then you go to work and are jealous because your roommate gets to play with the boys all morning until they leave for the next town.

you know how that happens. just another everyday occurrence.
